Rileybrook Hall

I am NOT affiliated with Rileybrook Hall, so I can't help you with reservations. Call the phone number listed below and Tom or Rob will take care of you!

Although Rileybrook Hall is listed by many web sites as a Bed and Breakfast or as a Restaurant, it is neither; Tom Bredwell (one of the partners of Rileybrook Hall) says it is a "Dining Establishment". I would also refer to it as a "Dining Experience". Look at the photos below and read the excerpt from their brochure to understand the difference.

Rileybrook Hall

Located in the rolling hills of Franklin County Indiana. Rileybrook Hall sits secluded from the road on eleven acres of meadows, woods, and flower gardens.

Built in 1980 of locally quarried stone and cedar shakes by Fohl & Hoog of Cedar Grove, Indiana, the cottage has the look and feel of having been here a century or more and is very reminiscent of houses and cottages one would find touring the countryside of Europe.

Guests are welcome to arrive a little early and enjoy a stroll through the gardens and follow the paths through the woods or join the other guests by the fire in the main room during the winter months.

The gardens on the west front were originally laid out in the late 1980's. In 1995, the year the house was opened, most of the plantings were lifted and moved to their present locations with the help and expertise of Richele Mayer, Richele's Garden artistry, Connersville, Indiana.

Since that time, the gardens have expanded to include the east front with the addition of a pond fountain, a classical garden pavilion and wisteria arbor.

Lunch and dinner are served in the main room where you are surrounded by an eclectic collection of portraits, statues and heraldry.

The heraldic symbols and coats of arms in the panels that surround the room were painted by artists John and Jeffrey Thom of Bloomington, Indiana, who also built and painted the large book cabinets on the north wall flanking the fireplace.

"Everything here has been created to please the eye and the palate, we take great pride in what we provide at Rileybrook, especially the feeling that you are not in a restaurant, rather in someone's home for a dinner party; we hope you will share that feeling and return often".

Your hosts,

Tom Bredwell and Rob Meyer

I went to Rileybrook Hall in the Summer and Fall of 2005, and again in June 2009 with my cousin Marilyn and some of her friends and some of our relatives. It was great! Our five course dinner was $36 and consisted of:
  1. Saffron rice soup.

    1. On our second trip we had a multi-grain rice soup.

    2. On our third trip we had saffron rice again!!

  2. A really good salad with slivers of beats and sunflower seeds.

  3. Pineapple sorbet.

    1. On our third trip we had a raspberry sorbet.

  4. Beef cordon bleu; a vegetable medley of asparagus, broccoli, snow peas, and other stuff; garlic mashed potatoes with three cheeses.

    1. On our second trip the beef was replaced with chicken florentine.

    2. On our third trip we had pork roast with curry glazed apples.

  5. Coffee and bread pudding with Jack Daniels sauce.
